“Freeway High” (June 12, 2020)

This song is a great representation of where I’ve been and where I’m going. There are so many sad songs and angry songs out there in the world (including in my catalog). It feels nice to have a positive, feel-good one out there, too. I hope you feel the message of gratitude and appreciating the moment.

“…I didn't return to Nashville for six years. It was very interesting to return to the same place but FEEL so differently. I felt stronger, wiser and ultimately ready to take on this music mecca. ‘Six Years’ is a song about celebrating aging in a society where we are all told to be and look younger.”

“As a musician, I almost feel like I'm defending who I am and what I want. Perhaps I feel pressure to be a certain way. These songs were written about feeling proud of where I am and what I'm doing. It's about feeling empowered wherever you are in life, and celebrating the past while building your own kind of future.”

“WINTER” (March 4, 2022)

Winter is my most organic work to date. Nothing about it was contrived. The process was about letting go and returning to the mere joy of creating. I wrote all these songs in 2020, a particularly difficult period for most everyone. It began with a tornado that rocked Nashville the evening of March 2nd. That catastrophe was promptly followed by the pandemic, among other personal and family struggles. My hope is that it resonates and connects with you (at this time in history when we have all felt so disconnected). This EP is special because it correlates so closely to my namesake. That is, Emily Bronte’s poem, “Fall, Leaves, Fall”- one that embraces the changing seasons, that finds beauty in the darker ones. Here is my take on Winter.

“Beyond The Rain” (February 11, 2022)

I was in the Nashville tornado and very much felt like Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz - only I didn’t wake up in Oz. After being displaced for 2 weeks, the world promptly shut down due to the pandemic. Everything changed on March 2, 2020 and "Beyond The Rain" is a small snippet of what that time felt like.

“Outsmart Love” (November 19, 2021)

This song idea came to me after a conversation I had with a very wise Uber driver. I was going through a breakup and had just finished dinner with a gal pal. I began crying in the Uber on the way home. I told him, “I thought I was smarter than that. I was always so careful about who I let in. I thought I would never put myself in this situation”. And he replied, “Those are the people it hits the hardest. The ones who think they can outsmart love”. Hence “Outsmart Love” was born!

“Indiana” (October 15, 2021)

I was inspired to write a song about missing childhood while playing at a winery outside of Indianapolis. It was early fall. The sun was setting over a field and there were two girls in front of the stage sitting on a picnic blanket and playing paddy-cake. At that moment, I felt a pang of nostalgia for childhood trials and tribulations. A time when it was all simpler.
